Calling Healthcare Professionals: Share Your Expertise

Two draft clinical practice guidelines are now open for public consultation:

  1. Anticoagulation for Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) in Adults with Advanced Kidney Disease

  2. Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation (AF) in Adults with Advanced Kidney Disease

These guidelines aim to provide evidence-based recommendations for the safe and effective use of anticoagulants in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD), a population often excluded from major clinical trials. Given the heightened risks of both thrombosis and bleeding in this group, your input is invaluable in refining these critical recommendations.

Why Your Feedback Matters

Public consultation ensures that the final guidelines reflect the collective expertise of healthcare professionals, including nephrologists, haematologists, cardiologists, pharmacists and researchers. Your feedback will help:

  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in the recommendations

  • Highlight practical challenges in implementation

  • Strengthen the evidence base by incorporating real-world clinical insights

How to Participate

  1. Download the draft guidelines and comment form

  2. Submit your feedback by completing the form and emailing it to The Secretariat by 2 May.

Key Areas for Feedback

  • Clarity and applicability of recommendations

  • Alignment with current clinical practice

  • Suggestions for additional evidence or considerations

Your contributions will directly shape the final versions of these guidelines, ensuring they are both clinically actionable and patient-centered.

Deadline for submissions: Friday, 2 May 2025

We look forward to your insights!
