Dr Graham Lipkin Awarded UKKA Lifetime Achievement Award 2025

We are honoured to announce Dr Graham Lipkin as the recipient of the 2025 UKKA Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising his extraordinary contributions to nephrology, patient care and the development of kidney services across the UK.

A Lifetime of Dedication to Kidney Care

Dr Lipkin’s career has been defined by his unwavering commitment to improving the lives of people with kidney disease. With 124 publications and 5,500+ citations, his research has significantly advanced understanding of kidney disease in pregnancy and rare renal conditions. His pioneering work led to the establishment of the Centre for Rare Diseases in Birmingham, now a national exemplar in specialist care.

As Past President of UKKA and a key leader in the Renal Association and British Renal Society merger, Dr Lipkin has shaped national kidney policy, including co-authoring the influential GIRFT national report for renal medicine. His approachable leadership style and enthusiasm have inspired generations of clinicians, with countless doctors and nurses crediting him for their professional development.
