World Kidney Day 2024

14 March is World Kidney Day 2024, an opportunity to raise awareness and advocate for kidney health worldwide.

This year's UK campaign has been developed by the Kidney Charities Together group, a collaborative effort between the UK Kidney Association, Kidney Care UK, Kidney Research UK, Kidney Wales, National Kidney Federation, PKD Charity and Popham Kidney Charity

This year's global campaign centres around the theme of "Kidney Health For All: Advancing equitable access to care and optimal medication practice". The UKKA is dedicated to this cause by supporting professionals in the delivery of kidney care and driving impactful research, striving for optimal medication practice and the delivery of the highest standard of kidney care.

You can get involved with World Kidney Day 2024 by hosting in-centre events, printing and sharing the information factsheets, stats and facts, colouring-in kidney sheets, encouraging patients to nominate a 'Kidney Hero' and more.

Let patients know that they can share their stories on social media using #MyKidneyHero and tagging @WorldKidneyDayUK (Instagram/Facebook) or @kidneydayUK (Twitter). Whether it's a friend, family member, or healthcare professional who's provided support on the kidney journey, highlight their support! Entries will close at midnight on 11 March, with the winner being announced as 'MyKidneyHero' on 14 March - World Kidney Day.
