Sustainable Kidney Care Scholar's programme - funded spaces still available

Are you concerned about healthcare’s contribution to the climate crisis? Do you want to develop a new project idea for your unit which would improve both patient care and environmental sustainability?

Funding has now been secured for on-line training and supervision costs for 10 sustainability scholars across renal units in the UK. Units can put forward one NHS kidney care health professional or health service manager to participate and in doing so, units would be giving a commitment that each scholar would have 1 protected day per week to work on a sustainability project within their organisation over the course of the year. Previous projects have included conserving water in haemodialysis and switching to reusable equipment.

Please send expressions of interest to renal@renal.org. Individuals submitting EoIs must confirm they have the support of their line manager/clinical lead to participate. Spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for responses is Friday 23rd September 2022, with an anticipated starting date for scholars of mid-October. The first on-line workshop is on 1 November 2022: https://sustainablehealthcare.org.uk/courses/sustainable-kidney-care
