Physical Activity, Wellbeing & Rehabilitation

Join the UKKA's newest Professional Group: The Physical Activity, Wellbeing and Rehabilitation (PAWR) Group and become part of a UK network of professionals researching and working clinically in physical activity, wellbeing and rehabilitation.

This group meets annually to discuss research and its application in clinical practice. They also aim to support members professionally to advocate on issues such as workforce planning.

It has been formed by combining the former British Renal Society Rehab Network with the former UK Kidney Research Council Physical Activity and Wellbeing Clinical Study Group and is now recruiting new members.

The Physical Activity, Wellbeing and Rehabilitation (PAWR) Group is temporarily co-chaired by Jamie Macdonald, Pelly Koufaki and Vicky Pursey. After six months, nominations will be open for new leadership. Co-chairs will be selected, one each from a research and a professional background. There will also be the opportunity for volunteers to lead workstreams on any topic that they think is appropriate.

We particularly welcome expressions of interest to lead the Group’s wellbeing and mental health activities.
