New UKKA Clinical Vice Presidents

We are thrilled to announce and extend our heartfelt congratulations to two exceptional individuals who are taking on pivotal roles within the UK Kidney Association as Clinical Vice Presidents.

Please join us in welcoming Jim Burton and Lisa Ancliffe to the UKKA Board of Trustees.

Lisa Ancliffe, Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist, Renal and Urology Therapy Team, Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, is recognised for her remarkable dedication to advancing Occupational Therapy (OT) within the kidney community.

Her unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with kidney diseases has earned her immense respect.

Lisa states, “Over the last ten years, I have been dedicated to raising the profile of OT and allied health professionals (AHP) within the kidney community. I am passionate about championing AHP roles to improve the quality of life for people living with kidney disease. I am looking forward to working with the UKKA and the other trustees to expand my experience and use the skills I have developed to help drive UKKA projects forward in a holistic and MPT-focused way.”

With a distinguished background as a Professor of Renal Medicine and a highly regarded Consultant Nephrologist in Leicester, Jim brings a wealth of clinical knowledge to his new role.

Having served as a key member of the UKKA Guidelines Committee since 2017, and later as Co-chair from 2021, Prof Burton's expertise has been instrumental in shaping best practices.

Reflecting on his journey, he shares, “Being part of the Guidelines Committee has been one of the most rewarding roles of my career to date, working with such a dedicated group of people to help improve the care of people with kidney disease. I am excited to be able to continue to help enable positive change in my new role as CVP.”

Both Lisa and Jim embody the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and dedication that the UKKA stands for.

Please join us in extending our warmest congratulations to them as they embark on this new chapter of leadership excellence within the UKKA.
