Transition to Young Adult (TYA) SIG - get involved!

We are seeking members and an MPT co-chair for the newly created Transition to Young Adult (TYA) Specialist Interest Group. We will be an enthusiastic and innovative group that will work together to improve patient empowerment, shared decision-making, and transition for young people moving to adult services. We will share examples of good practice and resources that are working across the country and identify areas that require additional resource development.  The principles and resources shared and developed will be applicable from cradle to grave. The group will be co-chaired by Arv Nagra.

Come and make a measurable difference - yes we will have outcome measures! Let’s deliver high-quality sustainable healthcare for patients and families living with kidney disease.  Everyone is welcome from the paediatric and adult MDT. A small contribution is better than no contribution.

Do you know someone that has an interest in transition for young people moving to adult services? Could you encourage them to get involved? The UKKA is also offering a free leadership course to support members involved in our groups.

To join the group or apply to be the MPT co-chair please send an email with a short summary of why you would like to be involved to ukka@ukkidney.org by 8 January 2023.
