The International IgA NEPHROPATHY Prediction Tool

New help for people with IgA Nephropathy

IgA Nephropathy (IgAN) is a common cause of kidney disease in most parts of the world, especially in young adults. Some people who have IgAN will have gradually worsening kidney function, or even develop kidney failure. Others will have stable kidney function that does not get worse. Every person with IgAN – and every physician involved in helping them – wants to know the risk of the kidneys deteriorating.

For the first time, there is now a reliable way to find out:

The International IgA NEPHROPATHY Prediction Tool

  • Predicts at the time of kidney biopsy the risk of worsening kidney function over 5-7 years
  • Can be used in adults of all ethnicities with primary IgAN
and be calculated by a kidney specialist using an App or web-based calculator
  • Only requires routine clinical, laboratory and kidney biopsy information available at the time of diagnosis
