The Renal Association has produced guidance on best practice in the management of patients with kidney disease since 1995. The current editions of the Guidelines can be found in the table below, along with commentaries on other relevant guidelines.

Accreditation

The RA Clinical Practice Guidelines are not funded by any external organisation, commercial company or charity. Several of these guidelines have also been published in BMC Nephrology.

The guidelines have been accredited by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). The accreditation is valid until January 2022. This ensures that the Guidelines themselves will automatically be NICE accredited, providing they follow the processes laid out in the Clinical Practice Guideline Development Manual.

Accreditation helps health and social care professionals identify the most robustly produced guidance available, enabling them to deliver high quality care. More information on accreditation can be viewed at http://www.nice.org.uk/accreditation

The Renal Association’s Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) committee have produced a Strategy Document to plan their work through until 2020.
