Get involved: join our Haemodialysis SIG

Expressions of interest are sought for membership of a new UKKA Special Interest Group (SIG) for haemodialysis. SIG membership is open to all UKKA members, including doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, trainees, patients and managers. The SIG will be co-chaired initially by Dr D Ashby and a multi-professional co-chair (to be decided).

Through regular meetings the SIG will aim to set the UKKA agenda for haemodialysis service development, in particular by:

1. Discussing those service issues which are most important to patients and dialysis professionals, such as staffing, capacity or information technology.

2. Identifying gaps in the knowledge and analysis of the current UK haemodialysis service.

3. Highlighting priorities for developing haemodialysis care, education and research.

4. Planning work-streams and outputs to address these priorities.

How to apply

  • To join the SIG please email your name, institution, current role, and a one-sentence reason for participation.
  • To apply to be the multi-professional co-chair please also send a 250-word outline of why you are interested and suitable for this role.

Please send applications to ukka@ukkidney.org by 13 January 2025.
