20th Congress of the International Paediatric Nephrology Association

The African Paediatric Nephrology Association (AfPNA) is delighted to be hosting IPNA 2025 for the first time ever on the African sub-continent. South Africa and Cape Town in particular, is a popular destination for people from many countries in the continent as well as internationally as a tourist destination and social opportunities as well as scientific excellence

IPNA has trained more than 50 paediatric nephrology fellows in Africa who have returned to their countries of origin and developed paediatric nephrology services locally.

The AfPNA team consists of Hesham Safouh (President of AfPNA) as well as Bashir Admani, Sampson Antwi and Francis Lalya (IPNA Councilors) together with Local Organising Committee(LOC) Peter Nourse, Ashton Coetzee and Errol Gottlich.

A congress such as this is a perfect opportunity to showcase paediatric nephrology research not only in Africa but across the world. The venue will be the modern state of the art Cape Town Convention Centre with spectacular views of Table Mountain.

We are fortunate in having Pierre Cochat, Rukshana Shroff and Stephen Marks as our scientific committee with the Scientific theme being ‘Paediatric Nephrology across the Ages’ ranging from Antenatal screening, Neonatal and Genetic kidney disease, Childhood Nephrology as well as Adolescent and Long-Term Outcomes.

Cape Town provides a varied destination to network with friends and rejuvenate your spirit including beaches, outdoors activities, mountains, wine farms… and even whales.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting IPNA Congress Cape Town 19 – 23 February 2025.
