CONSENSUS USE OF LIPID APHERESIS IN CHILDHOOD MULTI-DRUG RESISTANT IDIOPATHIC NEPHROTIC SYNDROME (INS)

We are excited to announce a workshop aimed at developing a national consensus on the use of lipid apheresis in children with complex multi-drug resistant idiopathic nephrotic syndrome (iNS) or post-transplantation disease relapse. Given the rarity and high-risk nature of this condition, traditional clinical trials are not feasible. Therefore, this workshop will focus on pooling experiences from various centres to establish a unified national approach.

There is also a short questionnaire to gather peoples views on the use of lipid apheresis and then specific centres will be asked to contribute data to pool the UK paediatric evidence.

  • Develop a National Consensus: Address the variations in treatment approaches across the country by sharing and consolidating clinical experiences.
  • Share Experiences: Centres are invited to submit their experiences with lipid apheresis to contribute to the consensus-building process.
  • Collaborative Effort: This workshop is part of the UK Kidney Ecosystem project, co-funded by LifeArc and Kidney Research UK, highlighting the collaborative effort to improve treatment outcomes for this vulnerable population.
